Deacon Raymond Gueret – Director
Deacon Raymond Gueret was brought on as Director of Catholic Social Services on August 2017. Being a part of CSS is a natural extension of his ministry to the poor. He is also active in the Prison and Pro-Life Ministries. He retired from IBM after 32 years in Technical Sales Mainframe. Deacon Gueret also worked as Systems Programmer and Availability Manager for several international companies. Deacon Gueret brings to the job a passion for getting together a group of people to work towards being Christ to others. He enjoys playing golf and spending time with his friends and family. In six months as Director, he has already made several renovations in and outside of our building. CSS is so blessed to have him as our Leader, who abides by the quote, “Be not Afraid”.
Diane Davino – Secretary/Receptionist
After 40 years in the Interior Design business and Clothing Retail business, God led Diane on a different road and took her to the door of CSS in September of 2016. Diane coming to work with CSS is a blessing. She shares her skills and talents in everything she does. One of her visions is to help CSS with their fundraising campaigns. “There are so many requests and not enough funds to help all those in needs”, Diane says. She loves to decorate, travel, and listen to live music, as well as visit antique & second hand stores. In this chapter of her life, she has the privilege to spend her free time taking care of her mother. One of her favorite passages from the bible is She is clothed in STRENGTH …and… DIGNITY… PROVERBS 31:25
Becky Sadler – Accountant
Nathaniel Taylor – Housekeeper
Nathaniel Taylor is currently working in the Service Aid Department of the Montgomery Airport. He has been there for 42 years. He works part time as our housekeeper. He likes to spend his free time just relaxing at home and watching tv.
Direct Aid - Emergency Assistance
Jeff Clark, M.S.,LPC – Supervisor, Direct Aid
Jeff Clark is a Licensed Professional Counselor. In 1999, after working 20 years at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School as a Teacher/Coach, he transitioned to CSS. He is the Supervisor for the Direct Aid Program – Emergency Assistance. His passion is to assist his clients, who include adults, children and families, to find balance in their lives so they can get back on their feet and perceive themselves as capable role models in our society. Jeff looks at his family and Jesus Christ as his inspirations to continue doing his work.
Cristileen Cole Amoroso – Program Assistant, Direct Aid
Cristileen Amoroso was a special education teacher in Georgia, Alabama and the Philippines for 20 years before she joined CSS in October 2017. She wanted to work for an organization that would bring her closer to God through serving His people. She is very inspired by the staff, community and supporters who make CSS thrive. Cristileen’s current job allows her to meet people with emergency crisis and who are in need of food, clothing, medication or utility assistance. She loves to sing, watch movies, travel and take pictures. Her parents taught her, that when she prays, she has to put her eyes on God, not on the difficulties.
Mary Mabry – Secretary/Receptionist, Direct Aid
Mary Mabry worked in the payroll and accounting for 30 years. After retiring at Jackson Hospital, she decided to come to Catholic Social Services in 2002 not only to get out of the house, but to meet new people. Mary is the face you see upon entering the Direct Aid Office, and she always makes you feel welcome. She likes to read, shop and spend quality time with her friends and family.
Olga White – Immigration Specialist, Legal Immigration
Olga White is our Department of Justice Recognized Representative – Immigration Specialist. In 2006 she had the honor of being appointed Gov. Bob Riley to the State’s Child’s Death Review Board for which she served for 2 years. Before coming to CSS in 2008, worked with Electronic Data Systems under contract with the US Department of Education, Alabama Dance Theatre, and Hospital Employee’s Credit Union (BMC). Olga is a lover of the arts specially dance. One of her favorite things is assisting to concerts and dance performances. She also loves to spend quality time with her grandchildren. She decided to work for CSS to have the opportunity to help people in need and to work for an organization with the same values that she has. Every time Olga assists somebody with his/her immigration needs, she gets a wonderful feeling of accomplishment. Her inspiration comes from the wonderful people that work around her who give their time to help others.
St. Margaret's Services
Carolyn Holden – Supervisor, St. Margaret’s Services
Carolyn graduated from the University of Alabama and obtained a license to become a Licensed Social Worker after raising two sons and a daughter. Her work background started as an Adult Protective Investigator at the Department of Human Resources in Birmingham for 3 years then she moved to Montgomery and became a Medical Social Worker for 2 more years. Carolyn said that she is truly blessed to work with the elderly to help enable the 65-year-old men and women to empower them with the tools to stay in their homes as long as possible.
At home, she enjoys sewing, quilting, crocheting, and crafting of all kinds. She loves to be with nature and spend time with her family. Her favorite quote is: It is my honor to serve you as I would a father, or a brother, a sister or a mother… ( 1 Timothy 5: 1-2).
LaTonya Gamble – Assistant Supervisor, St. Margaret’s Services
LaTonya Gamble was born and raised in Tuskegee, Alabama. She relocated to Montgomery with her husband and daughter in 1999 to attend college at Alabama State University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and later attended the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa for her Master’s in Social Work. Before joining CSS, she worked for Country Cottage Assisted Living located in Montgomery for eight years and Volunteers of America for five years. She loves helping others and with her dependability, patience and organization skills she is able to be more available to assist each individual thoroughly. On July 9, 2018, she decided to work for CSS because of the organization’s great history of providing wonderful services to others.
When asked about why she involved in this work, LaTonya said, “It brings joy to my heart knowing that I’ve helped someone or put a smile on their face. This is why I’m dedicated to this field of work and enjoy every part of it. God has a purpose for me in this life and I think this is it.” When she is not helping others or working, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, yard work or just relaxing on the patio.
Mackenzie Colvin – Elderly Care Case Worker, St. Margaret’s Services
Mackenzie was born and raised in Montgomery where she attended Catholic School from Pre-K to High School. She received her Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Child Life at Auburn University. Before joining the CSS family she interned at Montgomery Area Non-Traditonal Equestrains (MANE) where they do therapeutic riding for kids with disabilities. From her experience at MANE and with working with the children and adults, she gets the best feeling in the world knowing that she made their day a little bit better. She knew that she would get the same feeling by working at CSS with the elders. When asked about what she loves about being an Elderly Care Case Worker, she said, “It makes my heart so happy knowing we have made these clients have a better day when we bring the Food Bags or simply call them about their day. And that’s what I truly love about this job.” When not at work, you can see Mackenzie volunteering at MANE, babysitting, or spending time with family and friends.
Karla Coley – Manager, Thrift Store
Karla Coley is our Thrift Shop Manager since August 2016. Before coming to CSS, she worked in several retail businesses. She was a buyer and a manager for both corporate and private businesses. She came to CSS because she loves the community spirit and she wanted to work for a non-profit church based environment. When a customer comes in the Thrift Store to shop, she welcomes them and assists them with their needs. Karla loves to hang out with her family and friends and going on a weekend trip with her husband is her way of spending quality time with him. Growing up with a large and happy family, Karla’s parents instilled in her the values of service, family and prayer. She is a woman of strong faith. She loves the books of Pope John Paul II and considers him as a great influence of our faith.
Susie Mindingall – Asst. Manager, Thrift Store
Susie Mindingall was a Customer Service representative at Hertz Car Rental for 25 years. She used to be a shopper in our Thrift Store before she got hired in 2015. Susie loves talking to our customers and helping them find something that they need. Some customers just want to have someone to talk to and have a conversation, and Susie lends a listening ear. When she is not at work, she likes to spend time with her daughter, watch movies, read, or go to church.
